Numerical and Experimental Analysis of the Potential Fuel Savings and Reduction in CO Emissions by Implementing Cylinder Bore Coating Materials Applied to Diesel Engines

Currently, internal combustion engines contribute to the problem of global warming due their need use products derived from fossil resources. To mitigate above problem, this study proposes coatings on cylinder bore in order reduce fuel consumption and polluting emissions. Therefore, present a numerical model is developed which tribological behavior, heat fluxes, leakage gases chamber are considered evaluate influence coating. Nickel nanocomposite (NNC) diamond-like carbon (DLC) study. The results demonstrate that NNC coating produces 32% reduction total friction force compression ring. estimated maximum temperatures for lubricating oil were 214, 202, 194 °C DLC, steel, materials.
